Reverse Osmosis System Fundamentals — Learning Path
## Course Overview
This learning path is structured for practising water treatment engineers and operators with at least two years of treatment plant experience. It assumes familiarity with basic chemistry and hydraulics.
## Modules
1. **Membrane Science**: polyamide TFC membranes, transport models, rejection mechanisms
2. **Feed Water Characterisation**: SDI, LSI, Stiff-Davis, scaling potential
3. **System Design**: recovery, staging, concentrate management, energy recovery
4. **Pre-treatment**: media filtration, cartridge filtration, antiscalant selection
5. **Operation**: start-up, normal operation, membrane cleaning (CIP), shutdown
6. **Troubleshooting**: diagnostic normalisation, performance trending, membrane autopsy
## Duration
Estimated 16 hours self-study. Assessment available at module end.
## Certification
Certificate of completion issued on passing all six module assessments (≥70 % each).
